Who these terms apply to
[1]These terms cover your use of this website and any driveway work carried out by Driveways Glasgow. We are a Glasgow paving contractor and we install driveways ourselves rather than passing your enquiry to other firms. When you accept a written quote, the contract for the work is directly between you and us.
Quotes and price bands
[2]Anything we give you from the online form or by email is an indicative price band, not a fixed price. It is based on the area and material you tell us and is there to help you decide whether to book a site measure.
A fixed price is only given in a written quote after we have measured the site, checked levels and access, and identified where surface water will drain. Written quotes itemise the excavation depth, sub-base build-up, edge restraints, drainage and surface material so you can compare them against any other quote on equal terms.
Deposits and payment
[3]We do not take a deposit until you have accepted a written quote. Any deposit, stage payments and the final balance are set out in that quote. The final balance is due on completion once you have walked the finished driveway with us.
Dropped kerbs and council permissions
[4]Where a dropped kerb or planning consent is needed, we prepare and submit the application on your behalf. Council fees are separate from our quote unless the quote says otherwise, and we cannot guarantee a council's decision or timescale. Rules change; we always work to the requirements in force when the application is made.
Changes and unforeseen ground conditions
[5]If you ask for changes after the quote is accepted, or if we uncover something we could not reasonably have seen during the site measure (for example unrecorded services, contaminated fill or unstable ground), we will stop, explain the issue and agree any change in price in writing before continuing.
Guarantee
[6]We provide a workmanship guarantee on every driveway we install, alongside the manufacturer's warranty on the surface material. The length and scope of the guarantee are stated in your written quote. It does not cover damage caused by vehicles heavier than the driveway was designed for, ground movement outside our work area, or lack of the routine maintenance described in our guides.
Cancellation
[7]If you accept a quote in writing you have 14 days to cancel without charge under UK consumer law, unless you ask us to start within that period. If work has begun at your request, you pay for the work completed up to the point of cancellation.
Liability
[8]We carry public liability insurance and are responsible for our work and for any damage we cause. We are not liable for losses that were not a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms, or for pre-existing defects in your property. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, or our liability for death, personal injury or fraud.
Website content
[9]The guides on this site are general information for Glasgow homeowners. They are not a substitute for a site survey or for checking current requirements with Glasgow City Council or your own local authority.
Governing law
[10]These terms are governed by the law of Scotland and any dispute will be dealt with by the Scottish courts. If you have a complaint, contact us first at hello@drivewaysglasgow.org.uk and we will try to resolve it directly.
