Is pressure washing bad for block paving?

Excessive pressure washing removes jointing sand and can loosen blocks. Use a lower pressure, work across joints, and always re-sand afterwards.

Can a sunken driveway be repaired?

Yes. Block paving is lifted, the sub-base is corrected and compacted, and the same blocks are relaid, which is why block paving is the most repair-friendly surface.

How do you stop weeds in block paving?

Weeds grow in the joint, not through the driveway, so a full, correctly graded jointing sand prevents them.

Refill joints with kiln-dried sand after every deep clean
Use polymeric jointing sand where weed pressure is high
Treat moss in shaded, north-facing driveways before it holds moisture in the joint
Avoid aggressive pressure washing, which strips joints and creates the problem it appears to solve

When should a driveway be sealed?

Seal block paving and printed concrete after the surface has fully dried out and efflorescence has cleared, typically several months after installation.

Sealing is optional on standard block paving and beneficial on printed concrete. Never seal a damp surface, and never seal permeable paving with a film-forming sealant, as it destroys the permeability the driveway relies on.
